Nobody wants to be talking to someone when they are busy checking their cell phone, e-mail, or watching their surroundings. This is sending a message that you don’t care and they’re not worth your time. So be present. Give the person you’re talking to your full attention. If you can’t give your full attention, apologize for needing a few minutes (or whatever time frame you need) and then give them your undivided attention. Listen

This blogs about having balance and getting even right? Having a healthy relationship is definitely a big part of that.

So have a raw yogurt drink, stretch out your carpal tunnel, then scrub those pots man! It’s worth it. I definitely know from experience.

 

When your desk is clean and clear so is your mind. Clear your desk at the end of every day. That way when you arrive in the morning, you’re ready to focus on your work and being creative.

A lot of times, I sneak a look at people on the subway or walking down the street to see if there is a glimmer of joy in the eyes.   Sadly and for the most part the answer seems to be “No.”  I get that living in the city tends to jade us but there seems to be a lack of joy as I watch people traversing through their daily routine.  Is life that lackluster?  Do you not like what your doing?  Are you still hung over from last night or the night before?  Is your commute that bad? Why Why Why do we as humans seem to have more bad/blasé moments than epic experiences of happiness?  Joy is everything that surrounds our life and shapes us into empathic creatures.  Yet, it seems that culturally we have faltered and stepped backwards, forgetting how powerful positive emotion can be.  We don’t live to eat and make money, we eat and make money to enjoy life.

Homemade Raw Chocolate

Benefits 

Raw cacao is the highest antioxidant food on the planet.  Raw butter provides beneficial fats that your body is missing in the standard American diet.  Not to mention Vitamin A and E, lecithin, antioxidants, selenium, healthy cholesterol, beneficial bacteria, and enzymes.  In addition, raw honey has been used for centuries to improve poor digestion, oral health, sore throat, coughing, allergies, burns, and scars.

Ingredients

1/2 cup of raw butter

1/4 cup of cacao powder

2 tablespoons of raw honey

Directions

Place a rack on top of a pot of boiling water.

Add 1/2 raw butter in a bowl and place on rack above boiling water.  The steam from the water will melt the butter.

After the butter is melted, add 1/4 cup of raw cacao powder and 2 tablespoons of raw honey.

Stir until everything is evenly dissolved.

Pour raw chocolate on wax paper/into plastic molds and stick in the freezer till hard, approximately 10 minutes.

All machines need grease. From a simple machine like a bicycle to a complex machine like a space shuttle everything needs something to help it’s parts move. Why should humans, the most complex of machines be any different? Raw fats are our WD40. Without them proteins won’t move and carbohydrates will move to much – straight into your blood.

I’ve been steadily adding some of these fats into my diet for the last 4 weeks or so and I’ve noticed a difference in literally everything. I haven’t changed my diet – just adding these completely changes all the other foods are digested. Examples of raw fats are raw milk, raw cheese, raw butter, avocado, raw seeds and cold pressed oils. The fireworks went off, you kissed a special someone, and you downed some Champagne, liquor, or beer as the clock struck midnight. Now, the sun has come up and you’re ready to start your commitment to your New Year’s resolution of a more healthy and fit you.  If you’re like me, I rang in the Near Year pretty hard, considering humanity made it through the Mayan Apocalypse.

Cucumber SlicesThis morning, I groggily decided to juice some cucumbers and level out my body.  The alkalinity of the minerals in cucumber juice effectively helps to regulate the body’s pH, neutralizing acidity–hello, alcohol is acidic.  Drinking cucumber juice also provides you with a good quantity of vitamin A, which promotes healthy surface lining in the eyes, respiratory tract, urinary tract and gastrointestinal tract.

cucumber juiceBeyond being good for your insides, cucumber juice also makes an excellent toner (men I’m talking to you also) which is a must when you get home at 4am… or later.  You can use it alone or what I like to do is blend it with aloe vera and a little bit of lemon juice.  I also take the pulp and dab in on my skin and let it sit for 15 minutes.  I always see a big difference after because the pulp is so moist, my skin is able to absorb the remaining cucumber juice.  This is a great pick-me-up after a “walk of shame.”
